Yes, we are still here and still building.   Our daughter just recently visited and asked her dad, " Do you feel you are on the home stretch of building the cabin?"    Winter has brought what needed to be done on the inside.  Much needed and necessary but not as exciting  as placing 9" logs one on top of the other and seeing it  take shape as a cabin.  Below you see pictures of the electricity, plumbing and heating and air coming together.   After all of these elements are in place then Terry will call out the Inspector to see if the job was done correctly and safe.  Once he gets the Ok then we get to start putting up sheetrock and that will answer Leah's question.   We will feel we are  on the home stretch when the "inside" of the cabin begins to take the shape of a home.   We  will  stain and caulk the inside, insulate and hang sheetrock which will clearly define the rooms.   So enjoy the not so interesting pictures.

The electrical panel is installed, we've trenched the service from the meter pole, run our service wire inside its conduit, and wired it to our panel.

I now have rolled up my 100 foot yellow extension cord that's been stretched from the meter pole to the house since August.  We've fired up a couple of temporary outlets inside the house.

Brother Dan and his boys have installed a heat pump in our attic, and have installed about half of the downstairs ductwork (in the ceiling of our basement).

Here's a picture of our plumbing supply lines that run throughout the house. This manifold holds each of the service lines that run individually to it's fixture, red for hot and blue for cold.
